About Mama Doula Canada
We are a multilingual doula’s collective in Ontario, Canada, consisting of compassionate bilingual doulas operating in Toronto GTA and Southwestern Ontario. Moved by a growth mindset, we’re also in the process of expanding our operations to provide bilingual Portuguese-English support to parents across Canada and, very soon, also in Brazil.
We were established in 2018 by Melissa Rafael and Mafalda Oliveira, both doulas and parents. They noticed the need for a more comprehensive and holistic service to expecting persons in the Toronto area.
After the management blew the candle to celebrate the first year, Claudia Pereira joined the roster as a doula. Shortly after, Mel and Mafalda decided to spend more time with their little ones. Therefore, Claudia bought the company, and together with Kle Peixoto, doula and business partner, they embraced the journey of becoming owners with plans for new service additions.
Our services are provided online, at the client’s place, birthing center, or hospital, and include supporting people through fertility struggles, pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. It ranges from educational workshops and classes to in-person dedicated care so that the birthing person can feel empowered and enjoy every moment of their journey.

One aspect that makes us second to none is that our team specializes in the Brazilian-Portuguese language and culture.
In addition, our team holds various skill sets, including Certified Birth and Postpartum Doulas (the whole team), Childbirth Educator, Newborn Cares Specialist, Sleep Consultant, and Gentle Birth Educator.
We believe that every family should have a doula, so we offer flexible payment plans, making it easier for parents to afford our services. Our comprehensive service has created happy clients who refer us to friends and family. As a result, we’ve flourished faster than the babies in our care and grown three hundred percent over the past year.
Our dream for the near future is to develop a social program to collect donated baby items to be sent to non-for-profit associations. We also plan to associate with an educational institution to offer a scholarship for new Latino doulas every year.
